Born in Boston's Back Bay Neighborhood, to Vincent and Carolina facinelli, Sofia would be the only daughter born to the pair, joining an already three year old brother. Vincent was a stern man, someone who those who answered to him feared, but for his little girl he was a ray of sunshine. He never looked at Sofia with anything but a smile on his face, and his little girl could have anything her tiny heart desired. Carolina, barely more than a trophy on Vincent's arm, was the one who had to tell her daughter no, to raise the little girl to have some sort of boundries. Something that only lasted until the little girl was five years old, when Carolina had a tragic yachting accident.
Childhood found Sofia surrounded by adults, mainly nannies, with just her brother as her constant companion. She grew up, with the expectation that she would one day work for her father's business in some capacity. As a little girl she was taught all the finer points of society, how to converse at social events, how to hold herself like a lady, and mostly how to be respectful but stern. Her father refused to have either of his children be weak. As she got older, she began to see more of her father's work and even started to notice some of his less than legal dealings. Many of her uncles spoiled her with dolls and clothes, always wanting to keep the littlest facinelli happy and smiling. She was protected without even realizing it.
Death was a constant in Sofia's life as a child and pre-teen. Her mother died when she was just five years old, many of her father's friends ended up dead for reasons Sofia was never allowed to know about. She was well versed in funerals and how to act during one. By the time she was ten she always knew just what to say to whoever was grieving, and what not to say. A skill no ten year old should have. It was also around this time that she started being taught how to use a gun, her father said protection was always something you should be able to do for yourself, even if you have people around you who are paid to keep you safe. She always thought this was because of her family's wealth.
When she was fourteen, Sofia was sent to New Hampshire for boarding school. Her father told her it was to get her the best education. In truth, her father was having some trouble with some rival families and wanted his only daughter safe. If she was gone, she couldn't be used against him. And her brother, already nearly an adult, was better equiped to handle the problems. School for Sofia was a time of learning. She started to find herself. She partied, she snuck out, she got bad grades and good grades. But in the end, she graduated in the top twenty of her class, she obtained entry into multiple top tear universities and started to understand what her father really did for a living.
It was during her high school graduation, her father having brought body guards, that her brother told her they needed to tell her what Dad did for a living. She blinked at her brother like he was an idiot and said "I know dad's in the mob" she was only half joking. Later, at dinner, her father informed her that he wasn't just in the mob but during her time in school he'd moved up to Mob Boss and was running the Back Bay area of Boston. She'd read enough books, watched enough movies and paid enough attention when she was home for holidays and during the summer to know what that meant. Her only words to it were "So I'm not going to college in Boston then." Which made her father smile and the topic was dropped.
It was during college, that Sofia started to actually learn about both family businesses. Falcone Industries was a global congomlerate that she was going to run one day. It had everything from fashion magazines, newspapers and publishing houses, to restuarants and televisions stations. It was with this knowledge that sofia picked her major in college. Her father's less legitimate business, however, was the one Sofia had to learn about while home. She had to learn the structure, the different families, how it should be and how it was. She had to learn how to work with the police and not against them. How to skate the line of legal, making it more difficult to be investigated. The plan was for her to take over Falcone Industries and her bother to lead the family. Together, her father knew they would be unparalleled.
Sofia dated, fell in and out of love twice while in college and found her future. Or so she thought. Her senior year found her in love with a man she hoped to marry one day. With her father's blessing she moved to New York with her boyfriend, got a job at a publishing house, in hopes of making it less obvious she would eventually take over her father's company purely on nepotisim. New York was a whirlwind of different from what she was used to. But it was also there that her boyfriend found out something wasn't quite right with her. During an outting that took the pair through a less than reputable part of town. As the pair were being robbed, one of the robbers looked at her ID and immidately dropped all the items, apologized and fled. She understood, but when her boyfriend asked she declined to answer. A week later, Purple Hyacinth flowers were delievered to Sofia, a flower that means apology. Again she refused to answer, and her boyfriend kept asking, and finally started to dig.
As Richie began to dig deeper into Sofia and her family, she warned him not to. She told him he wouldn't like what he found and if he got deep enough he couldn't go back. A phonecall from her brother told her how deep he had gotten, and she again warned him. This time, she even threatened to end things if he didn't stop. When his body washed up in the hudson river, she knew he hadn't taken her at her word and had kept digging. She had been sad, heart broken even, but her brother told her that's what happens when you love someone from the outside.
Sofia was twenty-nine when she got word her father had died, a car accident. Sofia returned home for the funeral and it was then that her brother asked her to return home for good, to help him run the emprie their father had built. She told him she'd think about it, and had to return to New York to close down her life there if she was to come home. It took almost six months for her to get everything situated and she called her brother, informing him she'd be home soon. She arrived just shy of her thirtith birthday. And for nearly two years, she's been running Falcone Industries.

Sofia Falcone was the daughter of infamous Gotham City crime lord Carmine Falcone. Sofia greatly inherited her father's manipulation abilities, and married Rocco Gigante merely as part of a much larger scheme. Sofia is the mother of two children. When the killer known as Holiday began murdering members of Gotham's most powerful crime lords on holidays, the Falcones became one of Holiday's major targets. Some of Holiday's most notable victims include Sofia's brother Alberto on New Year's Eve and Carmine's nephew Johnny Viti who threatened to testify against Carmine, on Halloween.
